No Snow, No Problem
Ashton Salwan’s 2024 water ramp season added a global chapter to his journey in freestyle aerial skiing. Spanning Switzerland, the USA, and Australia, these competitions offered the chance to test new tricks, gain international experience, and push his progress toward Olympic qualification.
Mettmenstetten: Starting Strong
Ashton opened the season in Mettmenstetten, Switzerland, competing in his first-ever FIS Swiss Freestyle Aerials Masters. Representing the U.S. solo, he finished 17th — a valuable early-season test that deepened his understanding of the international field and set the tone for what came next.
Park City: Building Confidence
Back on home soil in August, Ashton returned to Utah Olympic Park in Park City for one of the tour’s most competitive stops. He secured a 9th-place overall and ranked 2nd among U.S. men — a confident result that reflected the steady gains in his execution and control.
Brisbane: Stepping Up
Ashton’s final stop brought him to the Geoff Henke Olympic Winter Training Center in Brisbane, Australia. In a world-class field, he delivered a standout performance, finishing 4th overall. As the only American in the lineup, this near-podium result showcased his technical growth and competitive grit.
“These summer comps were a chance to stack experience, not chase results. I showed up, stayed present, and kept building — and I feel more ready than ever heading into winter.”
