This NIL & Brand Partnership Policy explains how Ashton Salwan / Team Salwan manages name, image, likeness, brand partnerships, product support, media use, sponsor recognition, and athlete-related promotional activity.
Ashton Salwan is an elite freestyle aerials athlete competing internationally on the FIS World Cup circuit. Any use of Ashton’s name, image, likeness, voice, biography, athletic performance, photos, videos, website content, or social media content must be handled professionally, accurately, and in compliance with applicable governing-body, competition, and Olympic-movement rules.
This policy is intended to protect Ashton, Team Salwan, brand partners, governing bodies, event organizers, and the integrity of the sport.
Independent Athlete Partnerships
Unless expressly stated in writing, all partnerships, product support, sponsor relationships, or brand mentions displayed on this website are relationships with Ashton Salwan / Team Salwan directly and do not imply endorsement by, sponsorship of, approval from, or affiliation with U.S. Ski & Snowboard, the U.S. Ski Team, USOPC, Team USA, FIS, the Olympic Games, or any related organization.
Name, Image & Likeness Usage
Ashton retains rights in his individual name, image, likeness, voice, biography, personal brand, and independent athlete identity, subject to applicable agreements, rules, and restrictions.
No brand, company, media outlet, individual, or third party may use Ashton’s name, image, likeness, voice, biography, photos, videos, athletic performance, website content, social media content, or personal story for commercial purposes without prior written permission from Ashton Salwan / Team Salwan.
This includes, but is not limited to, advertising, paid campaigns, product listings, social media promotions, website features, press releases, affiliate campaigns, ambassador pages, retail content, AI-generated media, edits, composites, or likeness-based content.
Permission for one use does not create permission for future, expanded, altered, paid, or sublicensed use.
Governing-Body, Team & Olympic References
Brands and third parties may not use U.S. Ski & Snowboard, U.S. Ski Team, USOPC, Team USA, FIS, Olympic, Paralympic, or related names, marks, logos, uniforms, slogans, event imagery, or official references in connection with Ashton or any partnership unless the applicable organization has provided written approval.
Brands may not imply that they are official partners, sponsors, suppliers, supporters, licensees, or affiliates of any governing body, team, event, or Olympic-related organization unless that relationship exists independently and has been authorized in writing.
Where appropriate, Ashton may be described in neutral, factual athlete language such as:
- Freestyle aerials athlete
- FIS World Cup athlete
- Professional aerial skier
- International freestyle skiing competitor
- U.S. athlete competing in freestyle aerials
Any language identifying Ashton as a current, former, future, nominated, or official member of a U.S. Ski & Snowboard team must be reviewed carefully and may require prior written approval depending on the context.
Photos, Video, Uniforms & Official Imagery
Official uniform photos, U.S. Ski & Snowboard team imagery, event imagery, competition broadcasts, media-zone content, and photos or videos showing official marks may carry additional restrictions.
Brands should not use images of Ashton in official team uniform, official competition kit, or with visible U.S. Ski & Snowboard, U.S. Ski Team, Team USA, Olympic, FIS, event, or sponsor marks for commercial purposes without prior written approval from the appropriate rights holder.
Whenever possible, Team Salwan prioritizes independently owned, licensed, or approved training imagery for private sponsor and product-support relationships.
Personal Sponsors, Product Support & Category Conflicts
Ashton may work with personal sponsors, product partners, and brand supporters when those relationships are permitted under applicable rules and do not conflict with governing-body obligations, exclusive sponsor categories, event rules, equipment rules, athlete agreements, or competitive eligibility requirements.
Product support may include gear, apparel, equipment, recovery tools, travel products, training products, or other items used in Ashton’s athlete life. Product support does not automatically create a right to use Ashton’s NIL, imply endorsement, require exclusivity, guarantee public posting, or authorize commercial use of his name, image, or likeness.
All requested deliverables, including posts, website placement, tags, testimonials, affiliate links, campaign usage, or promotional rights, should be discussed in advance and confirmed in writing.
Team Salwan reserves the right to decline, pause, remove, or modify any partnership, website listing, social media tag, product mention, or promotional activity if it creates possible compliance, reputational, eligibility, health, safety, or governing-body concerns.
Supplements, Wellness & Athlete Safety
Any supplement, nutrition, hydration, recovery, wellness, topical, ingestible, CBD/hemp-adjacent, medication-adjacent, or performance-related product is treated as a higher-risk category.
Ashton is subject to anti-doping rules and athlete-safety obligations. Team Salwan may decline or limit partnerships involving products that create anti-doping, health, eligibility, safety, or reputational concerns.
No partner may make medical, performance, recovery, anti-injury, treatment, or health claims using Ashton’s name, image, likeness, or athlete story without prior written review and approval.
Written Approval & Contact
Prior written approval from Team Salwan is required for any commercial use of Ashton’s NIL.
Prior written approval from the applicable governing body, event organizer, photographer, videographer, broadcaster, or rights holder may also be required for use of official marks, team references, uniform imagery, competition content, event imagery, Olympic-related language, or any content that could imply affiliation with U.S. Ski & Snowboard, the U.S. Ski Team, USOPC, Team USA, FIS, or the Olympic Games.
